Fall Weather and Zions National Park

Right now the weather is great here in Cedar City Utah. It has been in the 70′ here with beautiful clear skies. It is fall once again and Cedar does not disappoint with its beautiful majestic colors. Here is a picture of our front porch in full bloom.

Last weekend we went hiking in nearby Zion National Park. This is beautiful country for those who love to hike and enjoy the outdoors. Utah has many National Parks and Cedar City is close to many which allows for great weekend getaways.

Here are some pictures of us at an overlook which is just an awesome site to see. We hiked to the upper Emerald Ponds and then we went to the famous Weeping Rock.

These are just a couple of the great places you can visit in Zions National Park. The area is perfect for adventurers and helps to take your mind off of things. Owning real estate in Cedar City is at the top of the list for those who enjoy all 4 seasons and like to travel around.

Golfing In Cedar City

There are a lot of people who love to play golf in the warmer states like Florida, California, and Arizona. Utah has some of the finest golf courses in the country. Being close to St. George, Cedar City has a lot of golfers who make the journey from St. George to golf at the Cedar Ridge Golf Course.

A Cedar Ridge head pro and former PGA golfer, John Evans, said ” Because of the way it’s laid out, it will offer most golfers a chance to use every club in their bag.”

The Cedar Ridge Golf Course is one of the state’s finest community operated golf courses, including a well-stocked pro shop and clubhouse with a snack bar. The course itself is friendly enough for beginners, but has plenty of challenges for the seasoned golfers.

Winter In Cedar City

The winter in Cedar City draws a lot of tourist because of Brian Head Ski Resort and the Cedar Mountain Snowmobile Complex. Brian Head Ski Resort has an average of over 400 inches of light fluffy Utah snow per year. This is the main ski resort for Southern Utah and also has a lot of people travel from Nevada to go skiing.

The Cedar Mountain Snowmobile Complex offers over 160 miles of trails for snowmobiles and 40 km of snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. Having access to Cedar Breaks National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park gives individuals miles and miles of beautiful scenery.

Cedar City has a lot of red rock and trees making the area very appealing to individuals who come during the winter season. The family atmosphere and ability to get out of the city make these two resorts very appealing to travellers from all over the United States.

The winter recreational activities makes the Cedar City real estate market continue to grow as there are a lot of people who come on vacation and want to move to Cedar City or purchase a second home. There are also cabins that are available for those that like the log cabins look.

Endless possibilities for hiking. Rich and I have explored so many places and are always looking for new ones.

Our last adventure was observation point in Zion National Park. There was still snow on the middle switch backs which made this interesting to say the least….after that you have some spectacular scenery to view.

Mountain biking @ Brian Head Resort

Summer is the time to enjoy mountain biking (and hiking as well as ATV riding). Summer season is open from June 28th - Sept. 28th.

The Mountain Bike Park is open for shuttles and bike rentals during this season, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If you are not familiar with the area contact us for more information.
